History

KLM Catering Services Schiphol bv (abbreviated to KCS) has many years of airline catering experience. More than seventy years in fact. KCS was an official KLM department before 1st October 1993 and has been an independent company since that time.

Back in those days catering consisted of protective glasses, earplugs and hot water bags. Culinary delights didn't come into the equation until quite some time later. KCS started out as a KLM facility service in 3 large barracks, where everything was being produced. The offices were located here too. 700 meals were prepared on peak days back in the olden days.
 

Nowadays KCS is mainly a logistical service provider, focussed on supplying the correct quantities and desired quality to the right place at the right time.
